Cattle tracking

The new generation of cow bells allows you to locate your cattle at all times. This device gives you an overview of the current position and health of your animals at all times on your notebook, smartphone or PC. If something goes wrong, you will be notified so that you can act fast to take care of your animals.

Behaviour analyses

The cattle tracker records animal activity. Intelligent algorithms are used to evaluate and analyse the collected data. This makes it possible to detect conspicuous behaviour and identify injuries and illnesses in the animals at an early stage. The technology also allows you to identify the best time to inseminate cows. According to a study by Swissgenetics, at least 3 x 15 minutes per day must be spent on recognising a large proportion of females in heat in a herd. Using our solution reduces this manual effort and increases the recognition rate.

In the thick of it with the herd of cattle and the Alptracker AG

Together with Alptracker, we form a team of specialists in livestock monitoring, sensor technology and tracking.

Our solution basically consists of three components: A transmitter, an antenna and an app. The transmitters are attached to the animal's collar and send their location as GPS coordinates at regular intervals. This data is received by a self-sufficient, solar-powered antenna and transmitted to our central server. The herder can then open the app and see the positions of the animals , mark pastures, and configure notifications.

Targeted use

Tracking the position and activity of animals allows the herder to be deployed in a targeted manner.

Recognising anomalies

Abnormal activity is recognised and action can be taken more quickly in the event of injury or illness.

Prevention

If activity is disproportionately high, this may indicate a wolf attack.

And where do we want to be in the future?

In addition to the sensors for the animals, we are currently working on a project that  aims to monitor the proper functioning of the electric pasture fences.

A constant flow of electricity is essential to effectively protect animals when they are grazing. With our new device, farmers and herders are informed immediately if a fence no longer provides enough protection. We look forward to being able to tell you more about this project soon.
